As a kid who grew up watching Twilight Zone marathons on Thanksgiving, I became obsessed with weird, eerie stories and sharp satirical critiques. I ran with both concepts and never looked back.
I earned my PhD in History in 2002 and currently teach history, Humanities, and creative writing classes at the high school level. In June 2020 I received my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside-Palm Desert.
In my free time, I love to dance and visit art galleries—the stranger, the better.
My Writing
I see writing as creative play. It’s most fun when it gets as weird as possible. It’s most important when it gets dark.
I write in the liminal space that spans horror, sci-fi, thriller, and weird fiction. My characters are often at odds with their surrounding societies.
